  • Acrobatics (Able to perform somersault jumps while standing or to get up from the ground. Can attack and block in mid air)
  • Enhanced Senses (As a Makai native, Hannya can see clearly in the dark and can use its own eyes in addition to Bishamon's)
  • Extrasensory Perception (Able to sense relevant sources of energy, such as Pyron's waves)
  • Possession (Hannya and Kien possess those who don them, taking over body, mind and soul and filling them with evil. They can also briefly possess the opponents by firing their will-o'-wisps as projectiles, to stun or force them to commit seppuku)
  • Multiple Selves (Types 2 and 3)
  • Shapeshifting (Hannya changes appearance depending on who dons it. Can transform into five samurai ghosts with Tsurane Giri)
  • Levitation (Hannya and Kien are able to float in the air, with the latter operating in a way similar to telekinesis)
  • Body Control (Hannya can make its host appear and disappear at will and Kien can turn into a floating sphere. Both can control their "bodies" even when their souls are outside)
  • Soul Manipulation (Able to collect the souls of defeated enemies and use them for a variety of purposes, such as consuming them to become stronger. Can use his own will-o'-wisps as projectiles and give them the appearance of his wife. Creates a huge hand made of soul energy when performing Oni Kubi Hineri)
  • Absorption (Kien absorbs the blood of its victims, becoming sharper the more it gets. Hannya slowly drains the life energy of the host)

  • Non-Physical Interaction (Able to interact with Pyron, who doesn't have a physical form. Should be able to touch souls, as all other Darkstalkers are able of doing so)

  • Corruption and Madness Manipulation (Totally unaffected by the aura of other Darkstalkers)
  • Kien doesn't deteriorate as a common sword would do

  • Purification and Sealing (Exorcised Hannya and Kien, forcing them to release the captured souls and sealing their power and will)
  • Clairvoyance (Became able to see Makai, the demon world, with the eyes of his heart once he reached peak spiritual strength through meditation)
  • Resistance to Madness Manipulation
  • Empathic Manipulation and possibly more (Through the practice of Roppoudou, he obtained a strong mind, which is considered a requisite to resist the effects of a succubus's body odor and the Darkstalkers' madness-inducing aura)
  • Same as his Night Warriors and Human keys save for Bloodlust
  • Necromancy (Should have the same control over ghosts as Hannya and Kien had in Vampire Savior)

Weaknesses

Sunlight is troublesome for him (Only for normal and possibly Oboro Bishamon), a strong mind/spirit can resist the madness-inducing effect of his aura and a dark heart can resist the corruption. Oboro Bishamon can't or doesn't want to possess others by using his will-o'-wisps or other ghosts, but has still shown the ability to make them appear.
