- Instigating Fear - Hudson described the animatronic as looking terrifying, with it's mere stare freaking him out. Terrified Hudson with hallucinations to a point that he wet himself and crawled in fetal position speaking gibberish to himself.
- Deception - Using hallucinations and voice mimicry, Springtrap tormented Hudson by making him relive moments of his past. Forced Hudson into a false sense of security and had him reminiscing of the past throughout the night using memories of his first date and love.
- Voice Mimicry (Mimicked Hudson's algebra teacher's voice, Mr. Atkin, while initially speaking to him. Would continue to speak with other people's voices that Hudson knew.)
- Telepathy (Springtrap's voice filled Hudson's head, with him describing it as coming from somewhere Hudson couldn’t locate)
- Subjective Reality/Illusion Creation (Caused various nonfunctional statues to come to life to move and sing, attack hudson, and tear apart an animatronic. Made Hudson experience past memories to torment him. Despite being hallucinations, they show to be able to affect reality and affect the victim of the hallucinations while leaving everything else untouched. Illusions created by Springtrap can cause you to doubt the sounds you hear and can "make you see words in your mind like ballet dancers spinning and leaping and dipping". Afton's illusions were causing Hudson to see his memories and people he knew from his past. The illusions were so realistic that he accidentally smashed his head into an arcade machine but thought it was done by Lewis. It even caused him to smell and feel his fake environment. Hudson saw several bullies from his past tormenting him even though he was alone in the bathroom and the girl he loved, Faith, telling him that she loves him. Hudson was tricked into entering an oven and burning himself alive just because of overwhelming amount of illusions)
- Technology Manipulation (Animatronic parts on the wall came to life whispering, reaching, and watching Hudson as he came back from being in a past memory.)
- Fragrance Manipulation (Made Hudson smell black cherry pipe tobacco just before going into a hallucination of his past.)
- possibly Perception Manipulation (Hudson described the walls of Fazbears Frights chaotically moving which made him feel dizzy, although noted this could have been due to snapping his wrist)
- Greater Immortality (Types 4 & 8; Even after being taken off life support, he was still alive while being so disfigured the only similarity he had to a human was that he had a head, a torso, two arms, and two legs. Was burnt so badly that the only things remaining was a charred skeleton and his heavily damaged organs. Nurses in Heracles Hospital describe the man being kept alive by something evil within him. After being suffocated with a pillow and flatlining, he quickly came back to life after the pillow was removed from his face)
- Multiple Selves (Type 2; It's brain shows that along with himself, there is another entity within him, forcing him to live through terrible nightmares.)
- Enhanced Senses (Despite having no ears and likely eardrums at all, it was capable of hearing Arthur speaking to it. His eyesockets moved and pointed as if he could see exactly where they were in spite of having no eyes)
- Pain Manipulation (People close to his body feel an icy rawness which felt like boring a hole through the middle of their back and something was trying to reach into their soul. While inhabiting The Stitchwraith, he made it so touching The Stitchwraith caused Phineas to experience immeasurable pain that nearly annihilated his consciousness.)
- Limited Technology Manipulation (A pulse-ox monitor attached to nothing but his finger bone was still capable of functioning.)
- Poison Manipulation (Was unaffected from being injected with two vials of morphine from a nurse to overdose and kill him)
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Large Size (Type 0; Is stated to be nearly fifteen feet tall.)
- Bodily Weaponry (Is made of many sharpened metal animatronic parts which he used to impale Larson through the stomach)
- Absorption (As it formed, the being sucked in all the remaining junk and debris in the factory into itself to build it's body.)
- Magnetism Manipulation (Can pull in metal around him into his body. Pulled apart the forklift he was stabbed with piece by piece)
- Disease Manipulation/Soul Manipulation/Morality Manipulation (After stabbing Larson, Afton's spirit infected him with his evil which would have filled him with evil and later nearly killed him had it not been treated by Jake.)
Weaknesses
Tends to play with his victims due to a never-ending need to inflict pain, prolonging their suffering before killing them. | Cannot move beyond small head and arm movements. | High temperatures destroy his infection, although this was done by giving Larson 3rd degree burns.
Ranked #6 of 112 in Five Nights at Freddy's by strength.
