Privacy Policy
What Powerscale (powerscale.online and the Powerscale Discord app) keeps about you, and why. Last updated 30 September 2026.
The short version
Powerscale keeps only what it needs to run your account and the things you post. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing. You can delete your account and everything you wrote at any time.
What's kept when you make an account
- Your username and password. The password is stored only as a salted hash, never as you typed it.
- A login cookie. One cookie keeps you logged in for up to 30 days. Only a hash of it is kept on the server, so it can be signed out from Profile settings. It's the only cookie Powerscale sets.
- What you add to your profile: a picture, a bio and a favorite character, if you choose to.
- What you do on the site: Board posts, replies and likes, matchup comments, tickets and their answers, and your duels (picks, timings and results). Posts, comments, duel results and your record are public on your profile; tickets are seen only by you and the admins.
- Your settings, such as whether your Discord account or a Challenge button shows on your profile.
Browsing, comparing characters and running tournaments needs no account, and nothing about you is kept when you do them.
Discord
If you use the Powerscale app in Discord, Discord sends it your Discord user ID, username and what you typed into the command, so it can answer. The app doesn't read or keep your messages.
If you connect your Discord with /link, your account keeps your Discord user ID and username. They show on your public profile, and people can look up your Powerscale profile from Discord, unless you untick "Show it on my public profile" in Profile settings. You can disconnect at any time.
If you claim a Powerscale linked role in a Discord server, you sign in with Discord, which connects your accounts as /link does. The site then keeps a Discord sign-in token, encrypted, that lets it do one thing: update your duel wins, approved overrules, weekly champion and founder status on Discord, so your roles stay current. It's deleted when you disconnect Discord or delete your account, and you can revoke it any time in Discord under User Settings → Authorized Apps.
The Powerscale Discord server gets posts about site activity: finished duels and open games (with the players' usernames), the weekly leaderboard, admin overrules and site updates.
Your IP address
Like any website, the site sees your IP address when you visit. Powerscale uses it only for a moment, to limit how fast one address can log in or sign up (against password guessing and spam), and doesn't store it. It's also how a matchup you open counts only once a day toward "Popular right now": only a scrambled form of it is held in memory, for that day, and what's saved is just the matchup and how many people opened it, never who. The hosting provider keeps short-term technical logs of requests, as hosts do.
Who else is involved
- Render hosts the site, and Neon hosts the database where account data lives.
- Discord, if you use the app or connect your account. Discord's own privacy policy covers what it does.
- Fandom serves the character pictures (from the VS Battles Wiki), and Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, so your browser loads those from their servers. Pictures are loaded without telling Fandom which page you're on.
None of them get your account data for their own use, and Powerscale doesn't share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
How long it's kept
For as long as you have an account. Delete it in Profile settings and your profile, picture, posts (with their replies), replies, likes, comments, tickets and the duels you played in are deleted right away. Discord link codes expire after 15 minutes and login sessions after 30 days.
Your rights
You can see and change your details in Profile settings, and delete your account there. You can also ask for a copy of what's kept about you, or ask a question about any of this; if you're in the EU or UK, the GDPR gives you these rights, and you can complain to your data protection authority. Powerscale isn't meant for children under 13.
Contact and changes
Ask on the Powerscale Discord. If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date, and big changes are announced on the site's updates.
