Their willpower allow them to break free from Rita's fear spells . Their will to work together as Rangers also nullified the magical affect of the boomerang of the Slippery Shark which made Jason and Tommy hate each other . The Rangers overpowered and resisted the abilities of the Mirror of Regret which uses a person's weaknesses and bad memories against them, draining their confidence and energy . The Good and Love that each Ranger possesses can allow them to fight Master Hate's upgraded spell which bypassed their earlier resistances. King Mondo turned the rangers evil and made them hate everyone but the rangers after realizing the power of kidness and love they were able to snap out of it.Tommy Oliver by seeing a person he loves/friends or something that makes him remember his friends allows him to break free from brainwashing. Crasket brainwashed Tommy to be the King of the Machine Empire and destroy the power rangers but when Tommy saw his friends unmorphed he was able to fight and break free from the brainwashing .
