Powers and abilities
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Regeneration (At least Mid, likely High-Mid, will continue to regenerate even from losing all of its limbs so long as it does not come into contact with fire or acid; depending on the edition they can even regenerate from fingers to create a whole new troll)
- Body Control (Can control severed limbs and body parts even if they are not attached)
- Immortality (Type 2 and 3)
- Natural Weaponry
- Berserk Mode (Attack unceasingly when hungry, becoming frenzied)
- Surface Scaling (Masterful climbers capable of scaling sheer cliffsides with relative success)
- Enhanced Senses (Trolls have poor hearing but smell and sight beyond normal creatures)
- Adaptation (Trolls can survive essentially any climate and often simply form a new sub-species as a result of the perils of that climate)
- Poison Manipulation (Their blood is naturally poisonous)
- Large Size (Type 0)
- Multiple Selves (Type 3; a crossbreed of troll and ettin exists, giving the Troll a second head akin to the Ettin's)
- Underwater Breathing (Scrags have Type 1, but can survive outside of water for up to an hour with no ill effect)
- Stealth Mastery (Many trolls, such as the Saltwater Scrag, maintain considerable stealth capabilities)
- Camouflage (Desert Trolls can modify their color to blend in with their surroundings)
- Immortality (Spectral Trolls and Spirit Trolls have types 1 and 7)
- Incorporeality (Spectral Trolls are spirits made manifest)
- Weapon Mastery (Certain types of trolls, including Giant Trolls, specialize in weaponry)
- Invisibility (Spirit Trolls are invisible)
- Non-Physical Interaction (Can affect intangible, incorporeal, abstract, and nonexistent enemies)
- Extreme Resistance to Fire Manipulation (Desert Trolls, unlike other normal variants, are not affected by typical fire and can regenerate from it) and Ice Manipulation (Ice Trolls can survive even the coldest locales and attacks and be unaffected)
Weaknesses
Fire and acid can overcome their regeneration, though there are different rules on this depending on the troll subtype
Ranked #99 of 704 in Dungeons & Dragons by strength.
